Something I have to work on:
My characters are easily likable. I haven’t really written a character who has made tough decisions, who is innately human and self-centered and how can you do that? How can you do that, and leave that man there to die? I want to shake those characters and applaud those writers. Tub and Frank in “Hunters in the Snow” by Tobias Wolff come to mind.
Keep in mind, change and growth in the character and in the plot.
